Returned to Sackville, where much of Thin Ice took place. Familiar in the way that only what one has drawn can be, but different under a blanket of snow. Laughed with glee when I discovered signs warning of thin ice in the Waterfowl Park.

Excited to return to the place where the core of Thin Ice takes place. I almost expect to see Jonah Gold and his roommates when I arrive.

Mai Gold's birthday is May 7th.

May 7th is not the day I invented the character, but the day upon which the event which would shortly inspire her invention occurred. The fact that it is the seventh day (as in seven dwarves) of May (as in Mai) is coincidental — I discovered the coincidence when I looked up the date, after deciding the day of that event should make a suitable birthday for her.

It's very surreal to me, but (as of this morning) Thin Ice is no longer just an idea, nor even three sketchbooks full of drawings, but a book you can order online.
